FSB detains three Russians for passing data on Russian military facilities to Right Sector

MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained three residents of the Voronezh Region suspected of high treason for passing data on Russian military facilities to the Ukrainian nationalist organization Right Sector, which is banned in Russia, the FSB press office told TASS.

"The FSB has suppressed the illegal activity of three Russian citizens, residents of the Voronezh Region, who are accused of high treason in the form of assisting representatives of the Ukrainian nationalist organization Right Sector. Their actions were directed against the security of Russia," the press office reported.

"It was established that the detained citizens provided the [Ukrainian] nationalist organization with information on Russian military facilities and transport infrastructure," the FSB said.

Investigators opened a criminal case against the detainees under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Treason"), which provides for 12 to 20 years in a penal colony or life imprisonment. Investigative actions are now underway, the press office added.
