Above-ground vehicle concept under development – Russian defense industry

The platform prototype should appear after 2025

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Specialists of the Advanced Weapons Center under the 46th Central Research Institute of the Russian Defense Ministry are developing a concept of an above-ground vehicle to carry personnel and cargo in a combat operations area, a source in the defense industry told TASS.

"The Advanced Weapons Center under the 46th Central Research Institute of the Russian Defense Ministry is developing a concept of an above-ground platform. It is clearly seen at present during the special operation that the speed of moving goods and people is not enough. The war has become very quick. Motor vehicles are not fast enough," the source said.

The idea of the above-ground flying platform is to create the one going up above the surface and moving over terrain with the use of engines, rather than a full-fledged costly aviation system maintained by skilled aircraft technicians, the source noted. Simple servicing and maintainability will be part of performance specifications.

An above-ground platform prototype is to appear after 2025, the source added.
