Algerian chief of staff, Russian state arms seller’s head discuss defense cooperation

RABAT, November 10. /TASS/. Chief of Staff of the Algerian People's National Army Said Chengriha received Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev in Algeria’s capital of Algiers, the North African country’s Ministry of National Defense said in a statement.

"As part of efforts to implement the Algerian-Russian program of bilateral defense cooperation, the chief of staff of the People's National Army, Army General Said Chengriha, received Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev at the People's National Army’s headquarters today," the statement reads.

The meeting also involved generals from the Algerian Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the People's National Army, as well as the Russian ambassador to Algeria.

"The meeting allowed the parties to consider the current state of bilateral defense cooperation and ways to diversify it in areas of mutual interest," the statement added.
