Kiev turns down Russia’s proposal on exit of unarmed nationalists from Mariupol

According to Mizintsev, the Kiev regime has once again demonstrated its true face and utter disregard for the lives of more than 130,000 its own innocent citizens who are kept prisoner by terrorists in Mariupol

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Kiev has turned down Russia’s proposals on humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians and unarmed nationalists from Mariupol, Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Monday.

"An ungrounded refusal to save people came at 02:00am on March 21 in response to Russia’s proposals based on the principles of humanity. As follows from a statement by Kiev’s official representative, ‘any surrender of army is out of the question,’" he said.

According to Mizintsev, the Kiev regime has once again demonstrated its true face and utter disregard for the lives of more than 130,000 its own innocent citizens who are kept prisoner by terrorists in Mariupol.

He stressed that nationalists continue to block humanitarian corridors to prevent people from fleeing the city to use them as a human shield. "And they shoot to kill those who are trying to leave the city," he added.

Mizintsev said on Sunday that Russia would open humanitarian corridors from Mariupol in the eastern and western directions for civilians and unarmed nationalists. He said that Russia would guarantee their safety in case the surrender arms.
