MOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Ukraine can hold presidential elections if a ceasefire is achieved, Vladimir Zelensky said in an interview with Fox News.
"We need security for these elections. We are ready if we have ceasefire even if it's difficult according to our Constitution. We can. With our partners, of course. We need security guarantees," he said when asked about their timing.
In Ukraine, neither parliamentary nor presidential elections are being held due to the martial law imposed on February 24, 2022, and continuously extended. Parliamentary elections were scheduled for the end of October 2023, and presidential elections for March 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly pointed out Zelensky's illegitimacy.
