Zelensky admits Ukraine no longer being invited to NATO

At the same time, the Ukrainian president denied saying that he was ready "to discuss the question of Ukraine’s neutral status"

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Ukraine is no longer being invited to NATO because the United States does not support its membership, Vladimir Zelensky has told reporters.

"Regrettably, we are not being admitted to NATO. Ukraine is not being invited to NATO, and there is nothing to discuss here. The United States, as the main NATO ally, does not support Ukraine as a member of NATO. This is how it looks like today," Zelensky said, when asked by a reporter whether he was ready for Ukraine’s neutral status.

At the same time, Zelensky denied saying that he was ready "to discuss the question of Ukraine’s neutral status."

Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the requirements for resolving the conflict in Ukraine during a meeting with senior Foreign Ministry officials in the summer of 2024. His conditions included Ukraine pulling its forces from Donbass and Novorossiya, as well as abandoning its NATO membership ambitions. Additionally, Moscow insisted that all Western sanctions be lifted, Ukraine’s non-aligned and non-nuclear status be secured, and the rights, freedoms, and interests of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine be guaranteed.
