BUDAPEST, March 17. /TASS/. EU foreign ministers are organizing another military aid package, worth at least 20 billion euros, for Ukraine, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said upon arrival in Brussels for a meeting with his EU counterparts.
"The position in support of hostilities continues to prevail in Brussels. A financial aid package valued at least 20 billion euros is being prepared at today’s Foreign Affairs Council," Hungary’s top diplomat wrote in a post on Facebook (prohibited in Russia due to its ownership by Meta, which is designated as extremist). "We will fight against getting us into this and we will oppose using Hungarian taxpayer money to finance weapons deliveries to Ukraine," he added.
Instead, Hungary favors negotiations between Russia and the United States to resolve the Ukraine conflict, Szijjarto explained. "Hope for peace has never been closer in the past three years, therefore Brussels’ intentions to make holding peace talks impossible are unacceptable," he said.
