The newspaper ranked the Russian leader second in the main category, "Doers," for its 2025 list, published on the paper's website. The name of the most influential person in Europe will be revealed later in the evening.

Along with Putin, the list of Europe’s most influential figures includes Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, President of the European Investment Bank Nadia Calvino, new European Council President Antonio Costa, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the new European Union (EU) High Representative Kaja Kallas, Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s National Rally parliamentary faction, Pope Francis, and other prominent figures.
