BERLIN, November 19. /TASS/. There are currently no plans for another phone discussion between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin, a German cabinet spokesperson told TASS.
"As is customary, we issue reports of phone calls after they take place. There are currently no plans on this matter," he said.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov earlier told TASS that the aides to the Russian president and the German chancellor had yet to contact each other following an agreement reached during their recent telephone conversation. According to Peskov, the escalating situation may compel the envoys to establish contact soon. When asked if communication could take place before the end of the year, he replied "yes."
Scholz called Putin on November 15. Previously, the two leaders held a phone conversation on December 2, 2022. According to the Kremlin, the recent talk focused on the crisis in Ukraine, the Middle East, and bilateral relations between Russia and Germany. The president and the chancellor agreed that their aides would be in touch.
