BEIJING, November 16. /TASS/. The significance of relations between China and Japan is beyond their bilateral agenda, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on the sidelines of the APEC Summit in Lima.
"China and Japan are close neighbors and important countries in the Asian region and the world in general. The relations between the two countries have great significance that lays beyond bilateral ties," the Chinese Foreign Ministry's website quoted him as saying.
Xi Jinping also emphasized China's willingness to "work with Japan in accordance with the principles and directions established in the four political documents signed by the two countries, adhere to the important consensus that China and Japan are cooperative partners and do not pose a threat to each other, and work to comprehensively develop bilateral strategic and mutually beneficial ties, striving to build a constructive and stable China-Japan relations that meets the requirements of the new era.".
