MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a law giving military personnel a number of benefits, according to the Verkhovna Rada’s (parliament) website.
The law particularly abolishes the concept of being almost fit for military service.
"An amendment was made obliging any man found to be almost fit for military service to undergo another military physical within nine months because the partially fit for military service category has been abolished," Ukrainian parliament member Yaroslav Zheleznyak explained on Telegram.
He pointed out that the law also guarantees service members 12 months of medical leave, even in other countries, with the requirement to take a physical after four months being done away with. In addition, the law provides a life insurance policy of up to 15 mln hryvnias (some $380,000) for any service member who is killed in action.
The lawmaker noted that all provisions banning Ukrainian service members from spreading information in the media and on the Internet had been taken out before the second reading.
