MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud has congratulated Vladimir Putin on his victory in Russia’s presidential election, the Kremlin press service said after their phone call.

"During a telephone conversation, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud cordially congratulated Vladimir Putin on his convincing victory in the Russian presidential election," it said.

Russia held its first three-day presidential election over the period March 15-17. According to the Central Election Commission, after 100% of vote tally reports by local election commissions had been processed, incumbent head of state Vladimir Putin held a resounding lead over his three rivals with 87.28% of the vote. Voter turnout was 77.44%.

In turn, the Russian leader congratulated the Saudi Crown Prince on the Muslim holy month of Ramada. "Vladimir Putin asked to convey his best wishes to the King of Saudi Arabia and the kingdom’s people on the holy month of Ramadan," the Kremlin added.
