BERLIN, March 12. /TASS/. Co-chairman of the right-wing Alternative for Germany party Tino Chrupalla believes that the energy transition policy has failed and the country needs to use other sources more again.
"In our energy package we need to use nuclear energy, coal and gas [that would come] via Nord Stream," he said in Berlin. His statements were broadcast by NTV. Chrupalla did not elaborate on the use of energy sources. But he stressed that the current government of Germany, consisting of Social Democrats, "greens" and the Free Democratic Party is "a threat to the German economy."
On September 27, 2022, Nord Stream AG reported unprecedented damage that occurred the day before on three strings of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 offshore gas pipelines. On September 26, 2022, Swedish seismologists registered two explosions on the pipeline routes. The Russian Prosecutor General's Office launched a criminal case based on charges of international terrorism. After the sabotage, in theory, one branch of Nord Stream 2 could start operating but the German regulator is not going to certify it.
