YEREVAN, February 28. /TASS/. The suspension of Armenia’s relations with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) means the absence of a permanent representative to the organization, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the parliamentary hour, answering a question from an opposition lawmaker.
"The suspension of relations with the CSTO means that Armenia has no permanent representative to the CSTO, and it does not participate in high-and highest-level events. We have still not received a response to our inquiry on what constitutes the CSTO’s area of responsibility in Armenia. This lack of response creates a treat to security and territorial integrity of Armenia," Pashinyan said.
He also noted that, instead of fulfilling its security obligations before Armenia, the CSTO, on the contrary, creates security problems. Therefore, considering these circumstances, the CSTO does the opposite of what it should do under its own obligations by not demonstrating a proper stance on the issue of Armenia’s security, Pashinyan believes.
"Our activities have been suspended de facto now, but, should issues remain unresolved, we will do it de jure; what else can we do?" the Prime Minister said.
