Saboteurs being trained in Ukraine to destabilize situation in Belarus — security chief

Alexander Volfovich described the geopolitical situation in the Eastern European collective security region as "the most acute military political crisis since World War II"

MINSK, January 10. /TASS/. Saboteurs are being trained in Ukraine to destabilize the situation in Belarus, Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volfovich said.

"We know that sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as well as illegal armed units undergo training in Ukraine. They are tasked with destabilizing the situation here. Naturally, this forces us to take corresponding measures," the BelTA news agency quoted him as saying.

He described the geopolitical situation in the Eastern European collective security region as "the most acute military political crisis since World War II."

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said earlier that this year is not going to be an easy one for the country, with hostile forces seeking to stir things up ahead and during the upcoming parliamentary and local elections set to take place in February.
