BEIJING, December 13. /TASS/. During a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the opening of a new chapter in relations between the two countries in a new era, China Central Television reported.

"Yesterday, together with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, we announced the establishment of the Sino-Vietnamese community of common destiny, opening a new chapter in relations between the two countries in a new era," Xi Jinping stressed.

The Chinese leader expressed confidence that this event "will bring great benefits to the people of the two countries and make a positive contribution to peace, stability, and development of both the region and the whole world." He pointed out the successful development of relations between Beijing and Hanoi.

The Chinese president added that the signing of documents on cooperation between China and Vietnam the day before "covers all aspects of inter-party and interstate cooperation." According to him, this demonstrated "the extraordinary breadth and depth of Sino-Vietnamese relations.".
