ANKARA, November 16. /TASS/. The foreign affairs commission of the Turkish parliament has postponed the discussion of Sweden's accession to NATO, NTV broadcaster has said.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the head of the commission Fuat Oktay. The agenda included seven international agreements and documents requiring harmonization, including the protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO.

No decisions were made on these documents, NTV said. According to the broadcaster, the date of the new round of discussions will be determined later.

According to the TRT TV channel, the initiative to postpone the decision on the protocol was put forward by legislators from the ruling Justice and Development Party. They argued there was lack of clarity concerning Sweden and the issue was not mature enough to be discussed. The commission was asked to postpone the discussion, TRT said.
