BEIJING, November 10. /TASS/. China’s President Xi Jinping will visit the United States on November 14-17 for a meeting with US President Joe Biden and a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
"At the invitation of US President Joe Biden, President Xi Jinping will be in San Francisco from November 14 to 17 for a China-US summit meeting and the 30th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on its website.
Earlier, the Axios portal reported citing sources that Biden and Xi intended to announce the resumption of contacts between the defense ministries on the sidelines of the APEC summit. During his recent visit to Washington, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi made it clear that Beijing was ready to restore these channels of communication. As the portal noted, the resumption of these channels, which China suspended in 2022 in protest against the visit the then Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi made to Taiwan, was high on the list of the White House’s priorities.
