Belarusian President estimates benefits from agreements with Iran at $100 mln — BelTA

Alexander Lukashenko invited Ebrahim Raisi to visit Minsk at any time which is convenient for him

MINSK, March 13. /TASS/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that the benefits from the agreements concluded during his visit to Iran can be estimated at $100 million.

He was speaking after a meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran on Monday.

"In general, I can estimate [the benefits of] the current visit at somewhere around $100 mln, if we implement all our agreements," he said as quoted by the BelTA agency.

He noted that the presidents of the two countries "absolutely trust each other."

"Our people support us in this. We stated that a high level of trade between our countries was achieved last year. This is a threefold increase compared to the level of 2021. But we stated that this is far from the potential that the two states have," the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenko recalled that although the two countries used to agree on many things, not everything was implemented, which is a big shortcoming.

"Therefore, in the current conditions, it is of fundamental importance to strengthen our existing ties, expand contacts and implement all the agreements reached. Without any delays or red tape," the Belarusian President stressed.

According to him, scientific and technical cooperation and the humanitarian sphere deserve special attention.

"I am sure that the road map signed today, the plan for comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Iran, as well as agreements and commercial contracts, will serve to develop a long-term partnership," Lukashenko said.

He invited Raisi to visit Minsk at any time which is convenient for him.
