Lukashenko signs decree calling up to 250 officers out of reserves

The document provides for the calling in 2023 up to 230 men aged under 27 to military service in the armed forces and up to 30 men - to the border service

MINSK, March 10. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree calling officers out of reserves, the presidential press service said on Friday.

"The document provides for the calling in 2023 up to 230 men aged under 27 to military service in the armed forces and up to 30 men - to the border service, who underwent training under relevant programs for reserve officers at military departments [of higher education establishments], hold military ranks of officers and were transferred to the reserves," it said.

According to the press service, the decree is geared to "raise the level of staffing on junior officer positions inn the armed forces and ensure high-quality training of the mobilization reserve." It also said that such steps are taken annually.
