Ukrainian special services blow up bomb with ammonia nitrate — Russian top brass

The explosion triggered a poisonous cloud about 1 km high, the Russian Defense Ministry specified

MOSCOW, May 16. /TASS/. Ukraine’s special services blew up a bomb stuffed with a tonne of ammonia nitrate near the settlement of Mazanovka, triggering a poisonous cloud about 1 km high moving towards Kramatorsk, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

"The Kiev regime continues the practice of provocations to accuse Russian troops of allegedly using chemical agents. Today, at 13:35, Ukraine’s special services detonated a roadside bomb planted in advance at a farm located 1.5 km northwest of the settlement of Mazanovka and reinforced with up to a tonne of ammonia nitrate," the ministry said in a statement.

The explosion triggered a poisonous cloud about 1 km high that shifted towards Kramatorsk, the ministry said.

The Ukrainian special services staged a similar provocation near the settlement of Dolgenkoye in the Kharkov Region on May 11 to accuse the Russian army of using chemical weapons. At that time, the Ukrainian special services detonated storage tanks with fertilizer, presumably, ammonia nitrate, the ministry said, pointing out that "Russia has repeatedly warned about such provocations by the Kiev regime.".
