IDF fighter jets strike Hamas weapons manufacturing site in Gaza Strip

TEL AVIV, April 19. /TASS/. The fighter jets of the Israel Defense Forces struck a Hamas weapons manufacturing site in the Gaza Strip in response to a missile fired at Israel on April 18, the IDF press service reported on Tuesday.

"Earlier tonight, a launch was detected from the Gaza Strip and intercepted by the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System. In response to this attack, IDF fighter jets struck a Hamas terrorist organization weapons manufacturing site in the Gaza Strip," the statement said. "The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for all terror activity emanating from the Gaza Strip," the press service added.

On Monday night, the Gaza Strip radicals launched one missile towards Israel, it was intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system. Israel’s Kan radio station noted that this was the first shelling of Israel’s territory by the Palestinian radicals from the Gaza Strip since last September.

A ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian groups who have been exchanging missile strikes for 11 days before that became effective on May 21, 2021. Some 257 residents of the Gaza Strip were killed, about 2,000 were wounded. In Israel, 13 people were killed.
