VIENNA, April 11. /TASS/. Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer has arrived in Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to reports of Austrian-based newspapers on Monday.

The Austrian newspapers circulated a picture showing the chancellor riding in a convoy of cars, which had left an airport in the Russian capital.

The meeting between Putin and Nehammer was initially scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Moscow time, the Austrian side said earlier. The Kronen Zeitung newspaper reported that the meeting would not be held at the Kremlin.

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg told reporters earlier in the day that Nehammer and Putin were expected to hold a face-to-face meeting. Asked whether a joint press conference would follow in Moscow, he said that "nothing can be ruled out."

The Austrian chancellor will hold a meeting with the Russian president to discuss the situation in Ukraine amid Russia’s special military operation. Last Saturday, Nehammer met for talks in Kiev with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
