All four movies about ex-Beatles will hit theaters in April 2028 — Variety

As Sam Mendes noted, the filming of all four movies will take a year

NEW YORK, April 1. /TASS/. As many as four movies about the Beatles, each one focusing on every member of the Fab Four, will premiere in April 2028, the Variety magazine announced on its website.

As the magazine reports, all four movies will be directed by British filmmaker Sam Mendes.

The filmmaker has confirmed the much-speculated casting: Paul Mescal is playing Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn will portray George Harrison, Barry Keoghan will star as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson will bring his own interpretation of John Lennon, the publication reports.

As Mendes noted, the filming of all four movies will take a year. He promised that the multi-part biopic, officially titled "The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event," will be the "first binge-able theatrical experience," the publication says.

"We need big cinematic events to get people out of the house," Mendes said, as quoted by the magazine.

According to the publication, for the first time, the authors of a feature-length film will be granted the rights to music from the extensive catalog of The Beatles' hits, including "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Let It Be," "I Am the Walrus," "Yellow Submarine" and others.

Mendes’ credits include such films as "American Beauty" (1999), "Revolutionary Road" (2008) and several parts of the James Bond series. For "American Beauty," he received an Oscar for Best Director.

The Beatles were active from 1960 to 1970, after which they broke up, and each of the four members embarked on a solo career. McCartney and Starr are currently alive. Lennon was shot in 1980 in New York, and Harrison died in 2001 after a long battle with cancer.
