Russian detained while preparing railway sabotage on Ukrainian orders

According to the Federal Security Service, the man manufactured three homemade incendiary devices to set fire to electrical equipment on the railway

KRASNODAR, February 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service has detained red-handed a man who was preparing on orders from the Ukrainian military a sabotage at a railway facility, and a criminal case has been initiated, the regional FSB branch said.

"The Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory in the town of Sochi halted the illegal activities of a Russian citizen born in 1980, who was preparing to commit sabotage at one of the region's transport infrastructure facilities on behalf of a paramilitary group of Ukraine recognized as terrorist on the territory of the Russian Federation," the FSB said in a statement.

"After receiving the assignment from the supervisor, the defendant manufactured three homemade incendiary devices to set fire to electrical equipment on the railway. When approaching the crime scene, the suspect was detained red-handed by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar region."

According to preliminary data, the man proactively contacted a pro-Ukrainian terrorist organization via messenger. A criminal case was opened against the man for attempted sabotage.
