Navalnaya released from police on undertaking to appear in court - attorney

She also said that Navalnaya is facing an administrative arrest for a term of 15 days

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. The wife of convicted opposition blogger Alexey Navalny, Yulia, who was detained on Sunday for participating in an unauthorized rally, has been released on an undertaking to appear in court, her attorney Svetlana Davydova told TASS on Sunday.

"Yuliaa Navalnaya was released from the police station on a recognizance to appear in court. She is charged under article 20.2 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (violation of the procedure of organizing or holding a rally, demonstration, march or picket). The court session will be held tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.," she said.

She also said that Navalnaya is facing an administrative arrest for a term of 15 days.

According to earlier reports, Yulia Navalnaya was detained during an unauthorized march to the Matrosskaya Tishina detention center, where her husband is being kept. She was taken to a police station in New Moscow neighborhood.

Navalnaya was also detained during the previous unauthorized rally, on January 23. She was taken to a police station and soon released without any paperwork.

Russia’s interior ministry and the prosecutor general’s office have repeatedly warned against participating in unauthorized rallies.
