Kremlin expects situation in Gaza Strip to enter peaceful path — spokesman

Dmitry Peskov stressed that Russia was closely monitoring the situation

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. Another escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip raises concerns, the Kremlin expects the situation to enter a peaceful path, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and, of course, we expect it to return to a peaceful path," he said, commenting on the Kremlin’s reaction to an Israeli Air Force attack.

On March 18, the IDF conducted large-scale strikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while Axios journalist Barak Ravid wrote on his X page, citing the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Israel had resumed military operations against the Palestinian movement in the enclave.

According to the latest Al Arabiya TV channel report, the death toll has reached 356, while 1,000 people were injured. About half of the dead were victims of an airstrike on Gaza City, the TV channel reported.
