MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. Russia continues to take additional measures to ensure its security in the Baltic Sea following Sweden and Finland joining NATO, Russian Presidential Aide and Maritime Board Chairman Nikolay Patrushev said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper.
According to him, the US and its allies in Europe have decided to militarize the Baltic Sea.
"At the moment, ensuring security in the Baltics is a crucial military-political task. Following Sweden and Finland joining NATO and the sabotage of the Nord Streams, Russia has been taking additional measures to protect its territorial integrity and economic sovereignty," he said.
Earlier, Patrushev warned that the West would try ban the Russian fleet from operating in the Baltic Sea.
