UNSC to meet on Thursday over NATO’s aggression against Yugoslavia — Russian mission

According to Dmitry Polyansky, Russia will have a good opportunity to expose "the babble of justification" on the part of its Western counterparts who "have been dreaming of burying" the 1999 aggression deep in the annals of history

UNITED NATIONS, March 27. /TASS/. Russia’s permanent mission to the United Nations has requested to hold a March 28 meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) on NATO’s aggression against Yugoslavia, said Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky.

"We have again requested a UNSC meeting on NATO’s aggression. And after a day of fierce opposition from our opponents, we got the Japanese presidency to schedule a meeting for 3:00 p.m. New York time (10:00 p.m. Moscow time - TASS) on March 28," Polyansky wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, on Thursday, Russia will have a good opportunity to expose "the babble of justification" on the part of its Western counterparts who "have been dreaming of burying" the 1999 aggression deep in the annals of history. "Let them realize that they will have to bear responsibility, with no statute of limitations," the Russian diplomat insisted.

Earlier, Polyansky said Western delegates made an ugly spectacle of the UN Security Council meeting on the bombings of Yugoslavia, requested by Russia, as the members failed to approve the Russian agenda. While three countries (Algeria, Russia and China) voted for it, 12 abstained. No delegations voted against the agenda, but it was turned down after failing to garner the nine necessary votes to pass.
