Putin congratulates prime minister of Myanmar on Independence Day

BANGKOK, January 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to Myanmar’s Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on the 76th anniversary of the country’s independence, the Myanmar Information Ministry said.

The Russian leader noted "historically friendly" relations between the two countries and pointed out that "thanks to the joint activity of our countries, we can further expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres in the interests of the two nations and to bolster stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has sent greetings to his Myanmar counterpart Than Swe, noting that political dialogue between the two countries is based on trust.
