US demonizing Russia to ‘burn’ taxpayer dollars in Ukrainian bonfire — Kremlin spokesman

Dmitry Peskov expressed regret that the US leadership continued its habit of using Russia as a tool in its internal affairs

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Russia is disappointed that the US authorities continue to use Russia as a tool in their internal affairs, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

The US authorities demonize Russia so that they can essentially burn taxpayer money in the Ukrainian conflict, he said. "We regret that the US leadership continues its habit of using Russia as a tool in its internal affairs. And in this case specifically, they engage in absolutely openly demonizing our country in order to manipulate their congressmen and senators in an effort to continue burning American taxpayer money in the furnace of the Ukrainian war," he said.

"We believe that this is a very regrettable practice, we would like to hope that there are still enough sober-minded people among American congressmen, who understand that this is nothing but absolute demonization, which is aimed at manipulating them," he added.

Earlier, while addressing the US Congress at the White House, US President Joe Biden suggested that Russia could invade some NATO country after a possible victory in Ukraine, thereby drawing the US into the conflict.

In an address to Congress, Biden urged that the administration's request for additional major federal financial aid to Ukraine be approved before lawmakers leave for Christmas recess in mid-December.
