MINSK, October 26. /TASS/. Moscow continues to verify the facts in connection with the recent tests conducted by the US at the Nevada test site, and so far no violations of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) have been recorded, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"We continue to examine the facts. So far we have not found anything that would speak of a violation of the CTBT," he told reporters in Minsk.
On October 18, the US Department of Energy said that it conducted an underground test in Nevada, meant to "help reduce global nuclear threats by improving the detection of underground nuclear explosive tests." Earlier, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Vladimir Yermakov said that Russia believes that the US is not giving up the idea of conducting a nuclear test.
