UNITED NATIONS, September 24. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said he had asked UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to provide facts substantiating his claims about the "abduction" of children in Ukraine.
"Among other issues [raised] during our meeting, <…> I asked him to clarify facts that led him to the conclusions that he was making," Lavrov told reporters at a news conference to sum up the results of his work at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. "No response has been given to me yet, but I still asked him to answer this question, because it is a serious issue."
Lavrov added that the secretary-general’s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, Virginia Gamba, met with members of the Russian delegation, who answered all of her questions. The top Russian diplomat added that "some new unanswered questions" emerge every time when a Russian official meets with the UN secretary-general.
