Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar discussed on Thursday the schedule of upcoming contacts and agreed to continue following the course of building a fair multipolar system of interstate relations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"There was a confidential exchange of views on the main issues of bilateral relations, including the schedule of upcoming contacts, as well as topical issues of the global and regional agenda," the ministry said in a statement on the top diplomats’ exchange on the sidelines of the SCO foreign ministers’ meeting, "The sides agreed to continue following the course of building a fair multipolar system of interstate relations."

According to the Foreign Ministry, the sides reaffirmed their determination to strengthen coordination in the development of common approaches within the framework of cooperation at major international platforms, including the SCO, BRICS, the UN and the G20. "The ministers praised the dynamics of cooperation in key areas of particularly privileged strategic partnership of our countries," the ministry added.
