Russia, Nicaragua must defend justice in international affairs, says Lavrov

"And on the basis of this analysis, of course, we will develop new tasks, to which we will direct the activity of our governments," the top diplomat concluded

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Russia and Nicaragua, as like-minded strategic partners, should actively defend justice in international affairs, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday at talks with his Nicaraguan counterpart Denis Moncada.

"Undoubtedly, today is a very good opportunity to discuss international and regional issues. The situation both in the world and in Latin America and the Caribbean is changing rapidly. And as strategic partners, as like-minded defenders of the principles of international law, we must of course actively defend justice in international affairs," he said.

Lavrov pointed out that his Nicaraguan counterpart came to Moscow with an interdepartmental high-level government delegation, which was a perfect opportunity to synchronize views on the bilateral agenda. "Your delegation's numerous meetings with Russian partners will, of course, allow us to draw an objective picture of where we are now in terms of the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level to promote our strategic partnership," the Russian top diplomat added.

"And on the basis of this analysis, of course, we will develop new tasks, to which we will direct the activity of our governments," Lavrov concluded.
