Russia issues factsheet on chemical weapons brought to Kramatorsk ahead of OPCW session

Alexander Shulgin said that the substance in question was the US toxic agent BZ

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. On the eve of a session of the OPCW Executive Council, the governing body of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Russia is disseminating among the participating countries a factsheet about the West’s delivery of chemical weapons to Kramatorsk, Russia’s permanent representative to the OPCW, Alexander Shulgin, said on the Rossiya-24 TV channel on Monday.

He said that the substance in question was the US toxic agent BZ.

"A regular session of the OPCW Executive Council opens tomorrow. As our national document, we are distributing among all delegations from the participating states a factsheet about the recent briefing by Russia’s Defense Ministry. Very alarming factors are on the agenda: in Ukraine, specifically in Kramatorsk, dangerous chemicals are being brought to the Kuibyshev Plant - boxes marked with two red stripes and the inscription "BZ," he said.

Shulgin stressed that some of these boxes were being sent to the line of engagement.

"These cargoes are escorted by foreign citizens … obviously, US and some other NATO instructors," Shulgin added.

At the same time, he stated that the US side denied its involvement in these events. However, according to Shulgin, Russia has "concrete facts testifying to US interference".
