West trying to put a lid on sanctions workarounds

The West’s new strategy is not merely an announcement of sanctions introduced against Russia but "it is actually a ban on being self-governing," Sergey Lavrov said

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The West is devising a new strategy to cut off all channels to bypass sanctions imposed on Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday in an interview with Channel One TV.

"There is a fresh uproar in the West about Russia boosting its foreign trade even in such conditions [in conditions of sanctions - TASS] and this is a nuisance. Now they are developing a new strategy to close off any channels to circumvent sanctions," Lavrov said.

The West’s new strategy is not merely an announcement of sanctions introduced against Russia but "it is actually a ban on being self-governing," the Minister noted.
