MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. The latest round of consultations on the grain deal will be held between representatives of Russia and the UN on March 13 in Geneva, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.
"The next round of consultations is scheduled for March 13 in Geneva, in which the Russian interagency delegation will take part. As well, there will be high-ranking representatives of the UN, [including Under-Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs Martin] Griffiths and [Secretary General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca] Grynspan, and the [grain] deal will be discussed," she said.
On July 22, 2022, a set of documents on supplies of food and fertilizers to the international market was signed in Istanbul. One of them approved a mechanism for the export of grain from Ukrainian-controlled Black Sea ports. Another part of these agreements concerns access to world markets for Russian foodstuffs. The Russian authorities have repeatedly pointed out the fact that the second part is not actually being implemented.
In November, the grain deal was extended for another 120 days. It expires on March 18.
