EU-led Serbia-Kosovo dialogue could be going down same road as Normandy talks — diplomat

"I urge everyone in the region - experts, political analysts, journalists and the public in general - to think about what role the agreements with the West will play and whether they will not repeat everything that happened in the Normandy format," Maria Zakharova said

MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina under the auspices of the European Union could be going down the same road as the Normandy format (talks on the peaceful settlement in the southeast of Ukraine, bringing together Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France), Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday.

"Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina under the EU auspices has every chance to repeat the fate of the Normandy format. I urge everyone in the region - experts, political analysts, of course journalists and the public in general - to think about what role the agreements with the West will play and whether they will not repeat everything that happened in the Normandy format," the diplomat said.

"After all, they (the Minsk agreements - TASS) were signed by heavyweights, not just people representing certain political forces, they were the people who had absolute authority to verify such documents, I mean the Western countries," Zakharova stressed.
