Lavrov-Blinken meeting in India could not take place because of US policy — MFA

The G20 Foreign Ministers are meeting in India on March 1-2

NEW DELHI, March 2. /TASS/. The United States supports the escalation of conflicts in the world and has cast diplomacy aside, and given the situation, it was difficult to expect that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken could hold a meeting on the margins of the G20 ministerial meeting in India, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

The G20 Foreign Ministers are meeting in India on March 1-2.

"Was there any doubt about this (the fact that there was no meeting between Lavrov and Blinken - TASS)? I think the US position has been clear for a long time. They support the escalation of conflicts basically all over the world; diplomacy, unfortunately, they have apparently sidelined. At this point the question is why? Because they lack or do not believe in it, or simply because destruction is part of the logic of US foreign policy in general," Zakharova told reporters.
