Eternal struggle against Russia continues, including in information area, Putin says

Russian President also noted the importance of live communication between those who take part in the special military operation and the youth

VOLGOGRAD, February 2. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the fight against Russia has endured through the ages, including in the information arena.

"There is such a concept called geopolitics. Russia is a large country, […] the largest in the world in terms of territory. And someone has always been fighting this country, endlessly. And some used to say: ‘how boring life is when no one is fighting Russia.’ This is not a joke, these are remarks made by concrete political figures of the past and Western countries," Putin said during a meeting with representatives of patriotic and youth organizations Thursday.

According to Putin, "this has always been the case," and this fight has always been accompanied by a standoff in the informational field.

"This has always been the case, throughout our entire history. And what is happening today and accompanies our special military operation is merely an escalation of this standoff, which has always been waged," the president added.

"It has always been necessary to counteract this attempt to disorient our people, our citizens. In particular, and almost always, the youth has been the main target audience of this influence: young people who do not yet know what has happened in the past, who probably are unable to evaluate the present," the head of state said. "But this is only possible for our enemy, if we ourselves sit still and do nothing."

Putin also noted the importance of live communication between those who take part in the special military operation and the youth.

"And, generally, we ask our fighters to take part in various events, especially those focused on youth," he added. "Because they come to fight from all parts of Russia, and they can take part in the work of school education, take part in events organized by middle and higher education facilities, take part in inter-regional and nation-wide events. We will definitely do that.".
