MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. There are many people in the United States and Europe who are of the belief that Russia is too big, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"They [in the West] say that we are just too big," Lavrov said in an interview with TV news anchor Dmitry Kiselyov.
To this end, the Russian diplomat reiterated the remarks attributed to former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright that Siberia, with its riches, is too big to belong to one state. "She may not have said that, but the fact that there are many people in the United States and Europe who think so, who say this in one way or another, advancing this thought - this is a fact," Lavrov stressed.
The Russian foreign minister also recalled in this regard the remarks of former Polish President Lech Walesa about the need to deal with Russia. "What is this but a demand for a final solution to the 'Russian question'?" Lavrov stressed.
