Medvedev takes aim at West’s sanctions by targeting intellectual property as 'payback'

"Among other things, these will be our retaliatory sanctions against their property rights. On everything, from movies to industrial software," the politician said

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. The West’s intellectual property is now fair game for retaliation against the ongoing sanctions, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday on his Telegram channel.

"All that remains is to adopt rules on the use of their [Western - TASS] intellectual property. Without any licenses and payment of royalties. Among other things, these will be our retaliatory sanctions against their property rights. On everything, from movies to industrial software," Medvedev commented.

Further lampooning the West, Medvedev sarcastically commended "developers of various programs for the unlicensed use of their expensive intellectual products," saying this is "the unlicensed use under conditions of personal sanctions."

"So what, a la guerre comme a la guerre," he argued.
