Ukrainian army uses false flag tactic to discredit PMC Wagner — DPR official

Igor Kimakovsky confirmed that Ukrainian troops dressed in Wagner PMC uniforms often walked around Kiev-controlled communities in order to identify pro-Russian activists

DONETSK, January 30. /TASS/. The Ukrainian army has been trying to discredit Russian forces by wearing combat fatigues with PMC Wagner insignia in cities controlled by Kiev, Igor Kimakovsky, an adviser to the acting head of the DPR, said on Monday.

Speaking on the Solovyov Live TV channel, he confirmed that Ukrainian troops dressed in Wagner PMC uniforms often walked around Kiev-controlled communities in order to identify pro-Russian activists.

"Is this some kind of secret? Do you remember how many people went missing in Mariupol for the sole reason they wished to speak in Russian? Thousands. They [the Ukrainian military] stop at nothing to discredit our combat-ready units. This is the nationalist groups’ weapon of choice. Another aim they are after is to intimidate local civilians," he said.
