Putin points to telephone conversations with special military operation participants

The president explained that these calls were arranged through the fighters' mothers

NOVO-OGARYOVO, November 25. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that he spoke directly to some participants in the special military operation over telephone, contacting them through their mothers. According to the head of state, these calls came as a surprise to the fighters, but their reactions surprised him.

"I talked to some of them over the phone, with the guys directly. In any case, I talked to some who surprised me with their mood, their attitude. They didn't expect these calls from me," Putin said on Friday at a meeting with the mothers of special military operation participants.

The president explained that these calls were arranged through the fighters' mothers. "[These calls] give me every reason to say that they are heroes. This is true," the Russian leader stressed.

At the same time, according to Putin, "only they themselves, the guys, know that they are truly heroes." "No one except them and their closest commanders who stand beside them know how hard this work is and how much real danger to life and health it involves," he explained, reiterating that only the servicemen "themselves feel and understand this."
