Putin highlights importance of fighting cybercrimes, drug trafficking

The Russian leader expressed confidence that the meeting with the chiefs of security agencies and special services from the CIS countries would contribute to the overall goal of strengthening the security of both individual countries and the Commonwealth as a whole

MOSCOW, October 26./TASS/. The fight against drug trafficking and cybercrimes remains among key priorities, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at an online meeting with the heads of delegations at the 51st meeting of the CIS council of chiefs of security agencies and special services.

"Such challenges as the fight against cybercrimes, drug trafficking, the elimination of trans-border criminal networks, and of course the development of cooperation on the protection of state borders remain of vital importance," President Putin stressed.

The Russian leader expressed confidence that the meeting with the chiefs of security agencies and special services from the CIS countries would contribute to the overall goal of strengthening the security of both individual countries and the Commonwealth as a whole, and increase the effectiveness of joint activities of special services to neutralize common threats.
