MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter, 21 HIMARS and Olkha rockets and four US-made HARM anti-radar missiles in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Friday.
"Russian air defense capabilities shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force near the settlement of Dzerzhinsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In the Kherson Region, they shot down 21 rockets of HIMARS and Olkha multiple rocket launchers, and also four HARM anti-radar missiles in the areas of the settlement of Novaya Kakhovka and the Antonovka Bridge," the spokesman said.
Russian air defense systems also "destroyed four unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Maltsevka in the Kharkov Region, Ivanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Priyutnoye and Energodar in the Zaporozhye Region," the general added.
Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed six Ukrainian army command posts in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"The strikes delivered by operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed six Ukrainian army command posts, 53 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 162 areas," the spokesman said.
Russia’s strikes also wiped out two ammunition and missile/artillery armament depots of the Ukrainian army’s 56th mechanized brigade in the area of the city of Zaporozhye, the general added.
Russian forces thwarted the Ukrainian army’s advance in the Krasny Liman area in the Donetsk People’s Republic, eliminating over 30 Ukrainian troops, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman area, Russian troops eliminated over 30 Ukrainian servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored vehicles and five pickup trucks upon an attempt by Ukrainian army units to cross the Zherebets River. The enemy’s offensive operations in that direction were thwarted," the spokesman said.
Two Ukrainian army battalions made an unsuccessful attempt to advance in the Kupyansk area in the Kharkov Region and Russian forces repelled all the attacks, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk area, the enemy’s two reinforced battalions made an unsuccessful attempt to advance in the area of Pershotravnevoye, Kislovka, Tabayevka and Berestovoye. Russian troops repelled all the Ukrainian army’s attacks by active operations," the spokesman said.
As a result, Russian forces eliminated over 80 Ukrainian militants, the general said.
"They also destroyed five tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, ten motor vehicles and a German self-propelled artillery system with precision munitions," Konashenkov reported.
The Ukrainian military lost over 300 troops killed in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In all, over 300 Ukrainian servicemen, seven tanks, 13 combat armored vehicles and 17 motor vehicles were destroyed in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction," the spokesman said.
In the area of the settlement of Pyatikhatka, Russian forces routed a company tactical group of the Ukrainian army’s 60th infantry brigade, the general said.
Russian forces pushed Ukrainian troops back to their positions in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction in the Nikolayev and Kherson Regions, Konashenkov reported.
The Ukrainian army’s five battalion tactical groups attempted to advance in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction towards the settlements of Pyatikhatka, Sadok, Ishchenka and Bezymennoye in the Kherson Region and Ternoviye Pody in the Nikolayev Region, the general specified.
"By decisive actions of the Russian troops, all the attacks by the Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries were thwarted. The enemy was pushed back to its initial positions," Konashenkov reported.
Russia’s Aerospace Forces delivered a strike by precision weapons, eliminating Ukrainian artillery armament repair workshops in the Khmelnitsky Region, the spokesman said.
"A precision strike by Russia’s Aerospace Forces in the Khmelnitsky Region wiped out the Ukrainian army’s missile and artillery armament repair workshops at the Shepetovka repair factory," the spokesman said.
Russia’s Aerospace Forces delivered strikes against three Ukrainian army brigades in the Donetsk People’s Republic, eliminating over 100 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"The strikes by Russia’s Aerospace Forces against the temporary deployment sites of the 25th airborne and 79th air assault brigades in the areas of the settlements of Seversk and Slavyansk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and also the 30th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army in the area of the community of Kurdyumovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic killed over 100 Ukrainian servicemen and destroyed 12 items of military hardware," the spokesman said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 315 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 158 helicopters, 2,164 unmanned aerial vehicles, 379 surface-to-air missile systems, 5,448 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 862 multiple rocket launchers, 3,453 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,360 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
