LONDON, October 6. /TASS/. The International Atomic Energy Agency will expand its team of experts at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from two to four, Reuters reported, citing the agency’s Director General Rafael Grossi, who is visiting Kiev on Thursday.
The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in Energodar is controlled by Russian troops. An IAEA mission traveled to the station in September and left two agency employees there as observers. Afterward, the agency published a report calling for the establishment of a safety zone around the ZNPP to prevent accidents arising from hostilities.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed a decree to make Zaporozhye NPP nuclear facilities Russian federal property. He ordered establishment of a federal enterprise called Zaporozhskaya NPP, which will take over the plant’s assets.
