MOSCOW, June 24. /TASS/. Moscow shares the approaches that Chinese President Xi Jinping declared at the BRICS summit, Russian Ambassador to Beijing Andrey Denisov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel on Friday.
"President Xi Jinping’s address was widely covered in China, it was broadcast in full, provided with detailed comments. In general, the president declared the principles and messages that China’s foreign policy is actually based on. He called for dialogue, an approach based on a search for mutually acceptable solutions to all contentious issues, and highlighted mankind’s common destiny. In short, both the content and the tone of his address were purely positive. I can say that we support all that was said. We share such approaches and positions," Denisov pointed out.
According to him, these positions "were in fact also reflected in the address delivered by our leader, who is definitely especially important to us."
The 14th summit of the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) is taking place via video conference. Its agenda includes ways to facilitate global development, discussions of global economic issues and the growing role of developing countries. China is holding the BRICS presidency in 2022.
