Russian aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles also hit three Ukrainian command posts, 69 areas of amassed manpower and military equipment, a radar station and two ammunition depots near the settlements of Raigorodok and Nikolayevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic

MOSCOW, May 31. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft and drones eliminated up to 290 militants and shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 ground attack plane in the Nikolayev Region, Defense Ministry Spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Tuesday.

"Overall, the air strikes eliminated up to 290 nationalists and 23 pieces of Ukrainian armament and military hardware. Also, a Su-25 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down in the area of the community of Kobzartsy in the Nikolayev Region," the spokesman said.

Russian operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles also hit three Ukrainian command posts, 69 areas of amassed manpower and military equipment, a radar station and two ammunition depots near the settlements of Raigorodok and Nikolayevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the general said.

The Sukhoi Su-25 ground attack aircraft is designed to provide close support to ground forces day and night and destroy targets with designated coordinates round-the-clock in any weather conditions. Su-25 aircraft are operational in the air forces of about 25 countries.
